Guy and Jeska Forsyth are well-known and extremely talented musicians who have recently moved to Buda less than four years ago.

They both perform fundraisers for the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians and the SIMS Foundation, which provides mental health and substance use recovery services and supports for musicians, music industry professionals, and their dependent family members. Jeska leads the Austin Texas Musicians that mobilizes, empowers and advocates for the musicians. Many musicians that live in Buda are members of these nonprofits of which Jeska and Guy Forsyth are long time leaders in.

They both hold a gospel brunch at 11AM every Sunday at the Mercado for the Central Texas Food Bank.

Monica is a 3rd generation Buda community member. Monica is a current City council member, in her second term. Monica loves her Buda community. She is about progressive steps, as well as keeping Buda in tack. She love Buda and all it stands for. She is raising her children, who are 4th generation Buda, in the community she loves and knows.

​For more than 20 years, Sandra Bryant has demonstrated strong passion, commitment, and leadership in serving her community. Her insight and ability to connect with people has proven to be extremely advantageous to Hays County.

She has served on the Board of Hays Caldwell Women's Center, the Buda Lion Club, Buda Police Foundation, Summer Pointe HOA and Keeping Communities Connected.

She served as the first elected African American Trustee on the Hays CISD School District from 2011 – 2017. She was elected twice as Vice President and Secretary. Mrs. Bryant founded her non-profit organization in 2011. She serves as its CEO/President and oversees community relations, mentorship, the scholarship program, and counseling for the nonprofit organization.

She is currently the President of Hays CISD Council of PTA’s, President of Summer Pointe HOA, Chair and one of the founders of Buda Police Foundation, Membership Chair of the World Class Centennial Lions Club of Buda, graduate of Buda Citizen Police Academy and received the Hays County Sheriff’s Citizens Academy Sergeant’s Award. Sandra served as a Kyle Area Youth Advisor Council Volunteer and in the United States Army (Reserve).

Lucinda is a lifelong resident of Buda, TX. She is an attorney at law and owns Doyle Law Firm in addition to being Branch Manager and Escrow Officer at Independence Title in Buda, TX. She has helped thousands of Buda residents with their legal and title issues over many decades. She also served as Justice of the Peace for a period of time. She is an avid supporter and donor of the Hays County Food Bank, Hays Education Foundation and serves the community in all that she does.

Dr. Robert Rosebrock, known locally as “Dr. Bob” was the first veterinarian in Buda. Since 1979, Dr. Rosebrock has cared for the animals of Buda, large and small. Walking into Dr. Bob’s veterinarian office is taking a step back in time. It still looks and feels like small town, rural Buda, Texas. New local residents today hear about Rosebrock Vet Clinic mainly through word-of-mouth advertising. Those new and old, that walk through the doors into the old white Dairy Barn refrigeration room that houses the Vet Clinic are partaking in Buda’s original Vet Clinic with Buda’s original and first veterinarian.

David has been in Buda for 40 years. David is a patron of the central Texas music community. He has dedicated much of his time and money to help promote under appreciated talent. His media company “Buda Treehouse Studios” is a popular hub for local musicians, film makers, and creatives. Buda Treehouse has helped launch popular acts like Girl Named Tom, produced national television commercials, and won local film festivals. David uses his media company to fight for the causes he believes in. He dedicates countless hours researching issues that affect Buda residents and shares informative content through his Facebook page “What’s Happenin’ Buda”. He’s aware that the average resident is preoccupied with work and children and aims to educate them on current events that affect their city, neighborhood, and access to natural resources.

David has been a resident of Buda for 2 years now. He has contributed to great vibes, kindness, and integrity in the form of picking up trash and doing the right thing when no one is watching. He has brought optimism, inspiration, and a creative spark to the town.

Coach Shelton started his career as the Head Football Coach of Buda High School in 1964. He became the Hays High School Head Football Coach and Athletic Director when the Buda and Kyle high schools merged. He had 23 consecutive seasons without a losing record. He has been enshrined in the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame. He is one of the winningest coaches in Texas high school history. Grandpa cared about helping young men grow into the best versions of themselves. Men who went on to become business owners in the area, raise their families in the area, and go to church in the area.

The stadium at Hays High School is named for him, the Bob Shelton Stadium.

Shelton still lives in Buda and celebrated his 84th birthday in October. He has been diagnosed with PSP, Progressive supranuclear palsy, and fights to keep as much balance, movement, and communication skills as he can.

Arturo is born and raised in Buda. He is an active member of the Air Force, currently a Master Sergeant, and has plans to serve until retirement.

He's in the Air Force Special Operations as a Combat Controller. He's currently stationed in San Antonio as an instructor but deploys with active duty all over the world. He's detached with members of other Special Operations including Green Berets, Navy SEALS and occasionally the CIA in the War Against Terror. His mom and recently deceased dad are very proud they raised him in Buda.

Debbie has been a Buda resident for 30 years. She owns a small business helping families & business with tax services. She receives great reviews, her business has been built off of referrals, and she donates to organizations such as the Hays County Closet, JHS sports, Easter baskets or Christmas gifts for the community, back to school donations for teachers, Hays Co. Food Bank, and more.

Dodi has grown up here in the Buda area and for the last 20 years while living here she has led the change we see today in the beautiful conversion of the Buda Mill & Grain Co. shopping district. Her vision and dedication to our community has been invaluable.

Chaplain Muchow moved to Buda in the early 2000s after a long career serving congregations as a pastor and after serving our Country as the Chief of Chaplains from 1994 - 1997. His service didn't end there. When the Buda Police Department started in 2010, Chaplain Muchow eagerly volunteered as the Department's Chaplain where he served the department and City of Buda in a voluntary role until stepping down in 2023. As the Police Chaplain, he worked closely with the Buda Police Officers, especially during tough times, and also accompanied Buda officers when delivering bad news to families. He has also led the Buda Ministerial Alliance in addition to serving as a pastor at local congregations.
